SUMMARY:Hartman Series: Jewish Values and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
DESCRIPTION:Join our rabbis for this important 6-part series on the Israeli
 -Palestinian Conflict. Using curriculum from the Shalom Hartman Institute\
 , we will explore the conflict through the lens of Jewish values\, unpacki
 ng our own perspectives while fostering respect for our differences.\nCour
 se fee: $36. A minimum of 10 participants is needed to run the course.\nTh
 is class explores one of the most divisive issues affecting the Jewish peo
 ple today: the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Through the study of Jewish n
 arratives about Israel and the unpacking of the complex meanings of peace 
 in Jewish tradition\, participants are invited to explore the ideas and va
 lues that animate different attitudes toward the conflict and how these va
 lues shape their own political understandings. Although a shared political
  platform may not be attainable\, this course aims to foster a shared resp
 ect for our differences. Together\, we will engage in a new values-based d
 iscourse about Israel\, including topics such as: Living with Difference\,
  the Israel We Imagine\, Jewish Narratives of Peace\, Attitudes Towards th
 e Land\, Justice\, Self-Preservation\, Compromise and the Idea of Jewish E
