Madrichol

A backbone of the religious school is our Madrichol program. Students who are in 7th grade and above can volunteer in our Sunday morning classrooms as assistant teachers. Our Madrichol program runs in tandem with the Yalla! calendar, and many middle and high schoolers work in the classrooms while their younger siblings attend Yalla!

Our Madrichol program includes:

  • A Madrichol-in-Training (MIT) program for 7th graders
  • A Madrichol program for 8th-12th graders, including a compensation structure where teens can earn community service hours OR scholarship funds towards Jewish trips and/or camps (scholarship funds available after the first year of service)

All Madrichol also enjoy social and educational programs throughout the year that help them bond as a group, learn leadership and classroom management, and provides a space to process daily experiences.

Madrichol have a variety of responsibilities in the classroom – chief among them is building meaningful connections with students, guiding them through activities, modeling positive Jewish values, and helping to run the Yalla! experience with safety and enthusiasm. The Madrichol program is a great opportunity for middle and high schoolers who enjoy babysitting, attending or leading camp, or have an interest in pursuing a career in education.
